We are our selling our award-winning Floating Cinema. Launched in 2013 as part of the Olympic Legacy Project, The Floating Cinema has hosted a highly successful artist-led programme curated and led by UP Projects over the last six years with events all over the country including outdoor film screenings, presentations, talks and workshops. It has been visited by over 50,000 people and has attracted crowds of up to 500 people for individual open-air screenings.
UP Projects is now moving on to new curatorial ventures and feel it is time for others to benefit from the Floating Cinema. We believe this 6ft Wide Beam barge has real potential as a permanent landmark project on a relevant waterway in the UK. It is a fully functioning cinema but could also be adapted to become a floating office, project space, events venue or site office.
Designed and built with sustainability in mind, the engine is a diesel-electric hybrid, which can be run purely on electric power for three hours. The boat is self-sufficient in that all the AV equipment for the cinema can also be run off the high-tech batteries, making it suitable for the uses proposed above.
We would love to find a good home for it. To request a sales pack or have a conversation about the Floating Cinema please contact Moira Lascelles, Deputy Director on firstname.lastname@example.org.
